About Journal

  • Xinjiang Oil & Gas (formerly the Xinjiang Petroleum Journal) was founded in 1989 under the supervision of the China National Petroleum Corporation and sponsored by PetroChina’s Xinjiang Training Center (the Xinjiang Petroleum Institute). The sponsor was later changed to the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration. Xinjiang Oil & Gas has a broad range of contacts and has been involved in many exchanges with oil & gas companies and scientific research institutions across the country, providing news and information about scientific and technological achievements in the oil and gas industry at home and abroad. The primary focus is on the development of unconventional reservoirs in oil-bearing basins. This encompasses many cutting-edge technologies, including technology for effective development of ultra-heavy oil reservoirs, integration of engineering geology with deep- and ultra-deep- drilling and production technology, cementing processes and technologies, volumetric fracturing for horizontal wells, wellbore pipe string technology, artificial intelligence engineering technology, ground engineering technology, safety and environmental protection, and energy-saving technology. The journal also publishes results in oil and gas development research from scientific institutes and colleges across the country.
